Hi. I'm Lauren Hare, small-town digital marketer that really loves interior decorating and restoration. I was that 15 year old spending my off-days watching HGTV and planning my future home. I was totally going to have a tiny house that was going to be decked out in purple. That didn't happen--the tiny house part, I still have quite a bit of purple going on.
After graduating college in 2018, I needed to decide if I was going to stay in my hometown or move away, thus, would I rent a house or go ahead and make my roots on this place? Who was I kidding, I was not going anywhere. So after some Zillow searching and help from Ashford Agency, I found a cute, charming house two blocks up from where I grew up my whole life.
It was a charming house with lots of potential. The curved archways, built-in's and hardwood floors hiding below the carpet were the perfect touch. But, yes, I also got the vintage green stove and range vent, powder blue bathroom with a view, and red shag carpet leading to blue camo carpet.
We renovated every inch of the main floor, and are soon working on the basement. This first-time home-owning, 23 year old millennial is going to share the tips, tricks and redos I encountered along the way. Stay tuned.
